Tenth Annual Sports Horse Auction

On May 16th we celebrated the tenth edition of our traditional annual sports horse auction, selling over 30 outstanding products and brood mares.

Among the bloodlines, there were products from Dimitil de Terlong, Alligator Fontaine, Fergar Mail, Baloubet de Rouet, Voltaire and Tatabra Luftballon. Our tenth anniversary of the auction was the setting for the introduction of the first 3-year old generation by Milano de Flore.

There was crowd of over 450 guests who attended the event and followed the exciting auction. Buyers at the auction came from USA, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay, Mexico, Chile and Argentina.

Top price was Lote 1 – Tatabra Romulo (Milano de Flore x Veneur de la Roche) – sold to Colombia.

As we move forward to our second decade of auctions, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the buyers, friends and supporters who have allowed us to successfully reach ten editions of our auction.

A quick start!

Since our inception, we have always looked to set the benchmark in terms of preparation and training, among other aspects.  This year, we added significant amount of training with the objective of offering our clients a horse that is ready to start training.   Those guests who were able to visit the stud prior to the auction, got a glimpse of the added training by seeing the horses jumping with our trainers.  At the rideability demonstration during the auction, we showed the horses jumping, a good reflection of how advanced they were in their training.

In late May, Tatabra Ruanda (Lote 7 at the auction), completed her first jumping event just a few weeks after the auction (CLICK HERE). Congratulations to Tatabra Ruanda and to the owners for a great start to sports!

TRADING PLACES (USA)

Trading Places (Tatabra Krimi) with Daniel Geitner continued their impressive winning streak  by taking victory at the $10,000 Tryon Premier Jumper Classic on May 31st.

A mere eight horses qualified for what would prove to be a heart-stopping dash for the cash finale. “You want a decent size jump-off when there’s a good crowd,” Geitner said in reference to the sideline bleachers full of spectators who came out to enjoy a perfect evening of show jumping thrills. The abbreviated 43-second round was as Geitner described, “Tricky—there were two inside turns, to the second jump and to the liverpool, that were really tough. You had to have a horse that sights in on them early, and as usual, he [Trading Places] was up to it.”

MILANO DE FLORE

Ricardo Dircie and Milano de Flore have now competed in a total of 3 events at 1.50mts, including the prestigious Sol de Mayo Gran Prix that took place in mid May.  Milano has achieved consistent and impressive  top 10 finishes in all three events, competing with the most experienced horses in Argentina.
